Batman Live Looks Very… Interesting

So we all know about the ridiculously budgeted $65 million disaster-fest that is Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. We haven’t seen it, but we all know about it. Now we have our first looks at DC’s Batman Live – a $20 million touring stage show featuring the above actors as the above characters. And boy, does it look… well, interesting.

This is the second time that Spider-Man and Batman have been pitted against one another in media outside of the comics. Some of you might remember the vicious fanboy battle between Spider-Man and Batman when Spider-Man 3 came out against Batman Begins/The Dark Knight. Comparisons were made, comments were said, etcetera. I think it’s fair to assume that these comments are going to be made again – even if, to be honest, both plays look pretty bad all things considered. Both stage productions have very different tones, considering they’re on the stage and not in the cinema, but still.

That note aside, we do our best not to make too many judging comments before something is released, and for the sake of argument it’s noteworthy that Batman Live hasn’t put anyone in the hospital yet. That being said, feel free to make your own comments in the comment section of this article.

Also, be sure to watch all of these videos. They will certainly illuminate what the show is all about, in so many words.

For a series of press preview clips, take a look behind the cut.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
