As revealed on Comics Alliance (with a hat tip to Modern Vinyl), it appears that frequent purveyors of consistent awesomeness Mondo will be releasing a series of vinyl-only releases for Danny Elfman’s music from Batman: the Animated Series. T

MV has a bit more information, but set for debut at SDCC next week, there will be at least five different 7″ records, each featuring different villains from the show (such as the above Harley Quinn cover by Matt Taylor). There will be covers with Joker, Clayface, Manbat and Mr. Freeze; the Manbat cover will be a fold-out, and the Clayface variant will be embossed so that you can apparently “feel Batman trying to get out,” which is pretty neat.

The 7″s will also not feature the entirety of the Batman soundtrack, but rather tracks specific to the 7″ so that, if you collect them all, you should have the majority of the show’s music. You can also watch the below video for some more information, such as upcoming glow-in-the-dark records:

The 7″s will debut at SDCC next week. I imagine that they will go on sale again sometime after via Mondo.com as well.

And, because we all know the theme is stuck in your head just from reading the title to the post, here is the theme to Batman: the Animated Series for you to listen to:

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
