Batman: The Brave and the Bold Keeps Making Me Want To Watch It

What a weird title for a post, now that I think about it. David is probably going to call me unprofessional…

ANYWAYS! I was reading through random feeds and saw something that made me laugh and excited enough to post it: you know that kids show, Batman: The Brave and the Bold? So far I’ve liked two episodes (the Bat-Mite episode and the NPH episode), but never enough to keep trying to watch, and I’ve seen a good handful of episodes. Well, it looks like they’re going to hit two birds with one stone for me now:

Kevin Conroy is going to guest voice on the show as the Batman of Zur En Arrh!

This Friday, February 12th, the episode “The Super-Batman of Planet X!” will air, featuring Kevin Conroy as everyone’s favorite Zur En Arrh Batman. That’s pretty amazing. While I’ve noted this show for not being that entertaining in the past, I’ve got to hand it to the team behind the show: they consistently reference awesome things. The whole Bat-mite episode was full of hilarious and old Batman humor, and while I don’t care for the show that much, I do love how it gets back to the crazier side of Batman stories that existed when the comic was first around (before everyone felt Bats had to be a dark and tortured soul 24/7). Needless to say, I will probably be checking this out.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
