This year we saw Archie fight The Predator and the Enterprise crew meet the Green Lantern Corps, so Batman meeting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles makes total sense. In another joint publishing venture between IDW and DC, “Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” #1 by James Tynion IV and Freddie E. Williams II will hit shelves in November. In this six issue miniseries, Krang, who is always trying to find ways to rid himself of the Turtles, finds a way to transport them to another dimension and this dimension just happens to be Gotham City in the DC Universe. It’ll be up to Batman to get them home but they’ll have to fight off not only their own rogues gallery, but also the worst Gotham has to offer.
These kinds of things can be train wrecks but “Archie vs. Predator” has been an absolute blast because of it’s creative team. James Tynion IV has a great sense of humor and if he applies that to this series he could deliver something really fun. Batman will be totally out of his element with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and vice versa. Personally I can’t wait to see Batman and Raphael interact. It’ll be a great contest of brooding and stubbornness.
Kevin Eastman is reportedly going to do variant covers for the series along with many other artists yet to be announced.
