Coming off the heels of “Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything,” CBR have been informed the creative team of co-writer Ben Bates and writer/artist Dustin Weaver will return to the characters in “Bebop and Rocksteady Hit the Road.”
According to Weaver, the story is a natural continuation of “Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything,” in which they cause massive damage to the timestream, and the co-writer assures readers that the story is “just as wild and fun.” This new mini series centers around the “TMNT’s most destructive duo” heading on a road trip back to New York when their powers start misbehaving.
IDW senior editor, Bobby Curnow says while the duo may be “the most demented characters in the TMNT universe” the series has “unlikely heart.” Curnow continues and says “Seeing their trail of utter carnage across the United States will be nothing but a pedal-to-the-metal blast,” and that “underneath the chaos though, Ben and Dustin have found the unlikely heart — and friendship — that exists between the characters.”
Fans looking for more character development for these two villians should be more than happy, as the series is set to hit comic book shelves in August and has a weekly publishing schedule.
