Ben Affleck Being Courted For DC’s Justice League — As The Director

Well, I’m sure we all didn’t see this coming.

In a report from Variety (via Newsarama), it appears that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros are looking at Ben Affleck to direct the big screen debut of their major team franchise, the Justice League (based on a script by Will Beall). Affleck, knowing for his acting skillz in films like Chasing Amy and Daredevil, has previously proven himself as a director with Gone Baby Gone and The Town (which, as a Boston native, have done wonderful jobs of showing the crappy parts of my home) and is apparently the man for the job to take on Marvel Studios and their record-breaking money-making Avengers franchise with geek wunderkind Joss Whedon.

Of course, according to the Variety report, Affleck has made it clear he will only direct films that he also stars in, so if this is a thing that actually happens, you will believe an Affleck can fly. Or be a symbol, of the night, of terror. Or run really fast. Who knows.

We’ll keep following this story and see where it leads up. Either way, good enough excuse to use the above picture LOL AMIRITE?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
