Bendis And DeConnick Collaborating For A Castle Book?

Found by a savvy internet sleuth over at Newsarama, Amazon has a new listing for a book written by comic book celebrities Brian Michael Bendis and Kelly Sue DeConnick with Lan Medina snagging the illustrator title that seems to show that Marvel comics will be publishing a graphic novel based on the TV show Castle in September.

There have been absolutely no mentions of anything like this before (to my knowledge), but ABC has published the novels by Richard Castle from the show (boom, boom, and boom), and Bendis has said on Twitter that he was a fan of the show. Castle is quite possibly the best cop drama on TV right now, not taking itself too seriously and featuring strong performances from the lead actors Stana Katic and everyone’s favorite Nathan Fillion. It’s also fought the odds in an over saturated TV cop drama world and managed to get renewed where other shows have failed. Giving it a graphic novel seems like a nice step in the multimedia direction.

Given Bendis’ crime book past and DeConnick’s extremely underrated talent, this is essentially a surefire hit. I’ve already put my pre-order in.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
