With the success of her Netflix original series, it almost seemed definite that a book starring Jessica Jones would come along. Just like Supergirl over at DC, it took a bit of time but now it is official: Jessica Jones is back with an all new ongoing with her original “Alias” creative team of Brian Michael Bendis, artist Michael Gaydos, and David Mack on covers.

In an interview with IGN, Bendis talks about where Jessica will be come issue #1. He talks about how “Jessica’s world has blown up in her face. She’s at a place you’ll least expect her. You’re going to find all of her relationships have altered. And we’re slowly going to find out why.” He also gives insight to the role of Jessica’s daughter (with Luke Cage), Danielle. He discusses that having a kid shouldn’t drag a story down but can enhance it. While I don’t disagree, I am still always fearful for the ever present target on Dani Cage’s back.

He also discusses why it took so long for Jess to get a new ongoing (you know, apart from Big 2’s mistrust of female-led books): Bendis wanted to wait for scheduling to align so the original creative band could get back together. I do find this a bit odd. Not Bendis’ intentions, I get that. More so is that, unless I’m wrong, Bendis doesn’t own Jessica Jones as a property, Marvel does. Not unlike the other Bendis news involving Riri Williams as the new Iron Man, this is another female-led book with nary a woman on the creative team.

Regardless, “Jessica Jones #1” will launch this Fall. Here’s the solicit:
