In case you missed it, our boy Sandy over at I Love Rob Liefeld (before you flip out over the name, read his explanation for why he named his site that) posted his Best Comics of 2009 Meta-List for all to see today. Over the past while Sandy has posted many of these Meta-Lists, all of which are aggegated rankings based off bloggers and reviewers rankings of comic titles on their end of year/decade lists. This year’s list is unsurprising, but for those that haven’t read a lot of more critically acclaimed titles, this is a good base to start your reading list off of.

My favorite graphic novel of the year, Asterios Polyp, finished #1 overall, while my top ongoing series of the year, Scalped, finished at #12.

Check out the Top 10 below, and make sure to check out the whole list at his site.

1. Asterios Polyp, by David Mazzucchelli
2. Parker: The Hunter, by Darwyn Cooke
3. George Sprott: 1894-1975, by Seth
4. Pluto, by Naoki Urasawa
5. A Drifting Life, by Yoshihiro Tatsumi
6. Monsters, by Ken Dahl
7. Detective Comics, by Greg Rucka and J.H. Williams III
8. Stitches, by David Small
9. Scott Pilgrim vs. The Universe, by Bryan Lee O’Malley
10. The Book of Genesis Illustrated, by Robert Crumb
