Big Bang Theory Go Full On DC

Comic fans have noticed that DC and the Big Bang Theory have gotten along quite well in the past. The guys appeared in that one issue of Power Girl, and some retailers (such as mine) were given DC bags to distribute your purchases in with a giant Big Bang Theory ad on one side. Oh, and there are those Big Bang Theory ads in the actual comics of course.

On last week’s Big Bang Theory (featuring the return of everyone’s least favorite Stand By Me cast member, according to Sheldon Cooper), Big Bang Theory essentially went full on DC, featuring a cold open in their local comic store decked out with DC and DCnU merchandise outside of a few odds and ends. If there was ever a good example of a marketing cross-promotion, I suppose this would be it. Looks like Marvel isn’t doing so well in this shop, although I will note that it does sort of break the “realism” of the show to not even see one Fear Itself tie-in up on that wall. Which week was this supposed to be, exactly?

Oh! Well, ok. There was that one signed Iron Man helmet that was discussed, but let’s pretend we didn’t say that.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
