Via CBR, Titan Comics have announced “Blade Runner: Black Lotus,” a four-issue sequel to the CG anime series of the same name. Written by Nancy Collins with art by Enid Balam, the comic will continue the story of Elle, aka Black Lotus, the amnesiac replicant assassin, as she tries to move on with her life. However, “is that [even] possible in a world where replicants are still hunted and feared?”

The 13-part Black Lotus TV series was a co-production between Crunchyroll and Adult Swim, that ran on both networks from November 14, 2021, to February 6, 2022. Set between both Blade Runner films, in their version of 2022, the show starred Jessica Henwick as the voice of Elle, and provided a backstory for Jared Leto’s Blade Runner 2049 villain Niander Wallace (voiced in the anime by Wes Bentley.)

The comic marks the latest series from Titan in the Blade Runner universe, following “Blade Runner 2019,” “Blade Runner 2029,” “Blade Runner Origins,” and the upcoming “Blade Runner 2039.” Writer Nancy Collins is a horror author best known for the vampire series Sonja Blue, whose comics credits include “Swamp Thing,” “Predator,” and “Vampirella.” Enid Balám is a Mexican colorist-turned-artist, who previously worked for Titan on V.E. Schwab’s “Extraordinary.”

“Blade Runner: Black Lotus” #1 will be released on June 1, with covers by Junggeun Yoon, Creees Lee, and Mico Suayan, and a variant displaying a close-up of Elle from the show; you can check these all out here.
