DC/Milestone’s “Blood Syndicate: Season One” has a release date. DC has announced that the six-issue limited series will hit comic shops and digital platforms on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Geoffrey Thorne (“Green Lantern,” “Future State: Green Lantern”) will script, with art by original “Blood Syndicate” penciler CHRISCROSS, and inker Juan Castro (“Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman,” “Arrow”).
“Landing Geoffrey Thorne and CHRISCROSS as writer and artists for the series was pretty much the icing on the cake,” Milestone exec Reggie Hudlin says of the project. “They’re the perfect team for telling this story.”
Announced at DC FanDome 2021 by Milestone co-founder (and current co-executive) Denys Cowan and Hudlin, the series will reunite three members of the Dakotaverse superteam’s original lineup, Tech-9, Wise Son, and Fade. Wise Son and Tech-9 have returned to the crime-ridden Paris Island after their tour of duty in Afghanistan, to find their own neighborhood under siege from Holocaust’s superpowered army.
“Making ‘Blood Syndicate’ the fourth pillar of this new Dakotaverse was just a matter of time,” Hudlin says of the story. “Holocaust’s recruitment of ‘Bang Babies’ in ‘Static Season One’ was a big hint that we’d eventually address the impact of the ‘Big Bang’ on Paris Island.”
“Blood Syndicate: Season One” #1 will feature cover art from Dexter Soy, in addition to new school and old school covers from Nikolas Draper-Ivey (“Static Season One”) and CHRISCROSS respectively. There will also be a 1-in-25 ratio variant from Juliet Nneka.
