BOOM! Studios have announced an original graphic novel, “Forever Home,” by cartoonist Jenna Ayoub, which will be published under their kaBOOM! imprint later this year.
“Forever Home” will follow Willow, a young girl, who, as a result of having two parents in the military, has never settled in one place for long. When the family arrive at Hadleigh House, Willow discovers that the house is haunted by ghosts who have been putting off potential buyers for decades, but Willow won’t let that stop her from settling in. As she gains the respect of the ghosts in the house, the only thing left for her to do is convince her parents that the house, even with the ghosts that inhabit it, is the one for them.
Ayoub described the project as being “very fun, and very personal.” She continued, “It has given me the chance to pay homage to the spirits that I love — many of whom are actually still alive and hopefully will appreciate the little parts that they contributed to this story.” Bryce Carlson, Vice President, Editorial & Creative Strategy at BOOM!, said “I’ve been excited about this book since the pitch first came in, and now having the chance to work with Jenna and watch her bring Willow and the charming, funny, and heartfelt world of ‘Forever Home’ to life is an absolute joy.”
“Forever Home” will be released in November.
