“Plate Tectonics: An Illustrated Memoir” will follow Motin as she navigates a complicated and transformative period of her life, when, at age thirty-five, she found herself a divorced parent of one and navigating her way back to her feet with “unabashed wit and charm.” Then, romance strikes again unexpectedly in the form of her best friend. As the press release questions, “Could things possibly get more complicated?!”

Sierra Hahn, Executive Editor of BOOM! Studios, described how “there are few things more complicated, unexpected, and rewarding in life than love,” with Motin’s graphic novel promising to explore “the hard choices we sometimes have to make to truly embrace it.”

Margaux Motin is a French cartoonist who has started her career at Muteen magazine in 2002. She left in 2008 to start up her own blog, where she has shared a variety of illustrated anecdotes from her life, some of which have been collected in previous publications, such as 2009’s “J’aurais adoré être ethnologue” (“I would have loved to be an ethnologist”). “Plate Tectonics: An Illustrated Memoir” was originally published by Delcourt in French in 2013.

“Plate Tectonics: An Illustrated Memoir” is set for release in June 2019.
