BOOM! Studios To Reprint Grant Morrison’s Steed and Mrs Peel

Last night while looking up information about what comics I will be pre-ordering for January, I came across a bit of information that surprised me — specifically, the title STEED AND MRS. PEEL #1 (OF 6). The name was familiar to me due to the fact I found this three-part prestige series by the same name, written by one Grant Morrison, illustrated by Ian Gibson and starring the Avengers (no, not those Avengers). And wouldn’t you know it, it’s being reprinted for the states.

As BOOM! is known to do, they will be publishing the book formerly published in 1990 by Eclipse Comics in a new slimmer format, re-formatting the three-issue book to a six-issue mini for re-distribution at $3.99 an issue. The issue solicit reads:

From the one and only Grant Morrison — “The Golden Game Part One: Crown and Anchor!” Your favorite Avengers finally return! When Tara King is kidnapped by a mysterious organization, John Steed and Emma Peel must reunite to solve this mystery. Featuring gorgeous art from Ian Gibson, best-known for his work with Alan Moore on “The Ballad of Halo Jones.” A science fiction/spy fiction mash-up from Grant Morrison and two of TV’s most iconic heroes!

For those of you not that familiar with those Avengers, try watching the opening credits to the show (and, whatever you do, avoid that American film remake, please).

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
