A moment ago, BOOM! sent over the below teaser:

A second later, I did this:

and

and

before feverishly texting my friend about this mysterious new teaser that had us all in a tizzy.

But in the interest of “professional journalism,” I’ll go into a bit more detail. I’m a reasonable guy, after all. I’ve just experienced some very unreasonable things.

The above image shows a partial shot of Jack Burton, a character turned icon memorably portrayed by Kurt Russell in John Carpenter’s seminal 1980’s film, Big Trouble in Little China — aka, one of the best films of all time.

And apparently, BOOM! Studios is going to be making a comic out of it. Or something.

After all, they do a lot of comics related to film properties that continue on the legacy of those characters and stories. Why, earlier this month we told you about their “Nightbreed” revival, another 80’s classic, so this isn’t totally out of left field. I mean, it is a little, but you can see where they’re coming from.

So. “Big Trouble in Little China” the comic, and it’s coming from BOOM! Studios. We’ll keep you updated on the news of this series, but in the meantime, you people sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we’re not back by dawn… call the president.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
