"Booster Gold" Looks to Make His Way to Syfy

“Heyyyy…I’m on TV.”

It appears the world’s most marketable superhero might be making his way to the small screen, as the Syfy Network has ordered a pilot script of a TV version of the one and only Booster Gold.

While this by no means says that a show will in fact happen, it is a step in the right direction that could perhaps mean this idea becoming a reality.

The project is being spearheaded by producer Greg Berlanti (No Ordinary Family, Green Lantern), a man whose credits are as spotty as Booster’s superheroics resume, and Andrew Kreisberg (Fringe). The latter is set to pen the script and to executive produce.

No clue as to whether or not this Booster will be associated with the one from the tenth season of Smallville, but I hope I’m not the only one saying “good god I hope not.”

The idea of Booster Gold is actually, in my mind, one of the most attractive and interesting TV adaptation prospects out there in superhero comics, and if done well it could be flat out awesome. Of course, Booster could look like his Smallville self and Skeets could be a toaster, so odds are it will either be great or terrible. Let’s hope for the former.
