The title explains it all, which is good, because otherwise you might have been wondering why Brandon Routh was modeling the 2046 Los Angeles Angels catcher’s gear. The image above is not in fact an early look at the next generation of a baseball uniform, but Ray Palmer’s Atom (or, more accurately I believe, A.T.O.M.) costume in the CW show “Arrow”. Brandon Routh has been tearing it up on that show, bringing a whole lot of charm to the show even as he does his level best to mess with my best Olicity fan fiction, and it was only a matter of time before his superheroic alter-ego made its way onto the silver screen.
Set to debut in this seasons’ 15th episode on February 25th, the costume is…not too bad. With these outfits, they almost always look more ridiculous in still shots. After all, we all thought The Flash and Quicksilver costumes looked stupid when we first saw them, and then when we watched the show and movie respectively, we fell in love. I imagine this won’t be any different. The question is, my friends, what do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments on what you think of the first shrinking hero costume in comic TV/movie history (in your face, Ant-Man!).
