Over on Brian Bendis’ tumblr, aka our favorite place to pull news stories these days, Bendis has posted a series of images teasing his current work and future projects. Among them are teases of images for “All New X-Men,” “Uncanny X-Men” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,” his current Marvel books, as well as the upcoming “United States of Murder, Inc,” but then there are a few new things to take peaks at.
First, we have (I’m assuming) the official cover of his book on writing, “Words for Pictures”, seen here:

It’s different from the image featured on Amazon and has a lot of his current output on it, such as the characters of Miles Morales, Gamora and Kitty Pryde, all starring characters of his current books. It’s currently scheduled for a July release on the 22nd (which is the day after my birthday if any of you are looking to get me a present this year).
Next up, we have this Mark Bagley image of Ultimate Peter Parker and Miles Morales:

Which, to my knowledge, has not been featured on any released comic so far (which would make sense given that all of the images released aren’t from any current comics). However, the image sort of screams “Ultimate Spider-Man” #200, the teased upcoming anniversary issue, doesn’t it? The split between the two bodies there is definitely lined-up for two issue covers, at the very least. Perhaps expect that in April, maybe? There’s a new film coming out, after all, as well as the fallout of “Cataclysm” to deal with.
Third, there is “The Last Rock Band On Earth”:

Which is assumedly a new book, although there is obviously nothing official about it that we can talk about here. But, hey, a new creator-owned Bendis comic is still cool, right? Right.
Last but not least, there is an updated version of the Marvel FCBD “Guardians of the Galaxy” comic cover (previously seen here):

While the background color is different, the most notable change is Peter Quill is now in a red trenchcoat, a la the image of the Guardians movie that was released yesterday. It makes sense, since the book is ostensibly designed for people who are looking to get into comics after seeing the movies (I can’t find the link, but I remember Bendis saying that his suggestions to Marvel Studios for the film is what got him the gig on the comic), and by the time this issue comes out we’ll assumedly have a big ol’ Guardians teaser trailer to whet our appetites for weird space fun.
So there you have it! While there’s nothing here that teases the return of “Scarlet” or “Brilliant,” let alone the future of “Takio” and “Powers” (Oeming is assumedly working on “Murder, Inc.” right now, but Oeming can do a million books at once because he’s insanely talented and also inhuman so you never know), but there’s still lots of cool stuff to look forward to if you’re a Bendis fan. Which we are.
