With the upcoming Marvel Now! relaunch, we’re seeing a lot of creative shifts on many popular Marvel titles, but this might be the first announcement that is legitimately surprising (by way of IGN). With “Chimichangas” assummedly referring to Marvel’s “Deadpool”, it looks like Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan are going to be taking over as co-writers. Posehn and Duggan have worked together in comics before, such as with the hilarious “The Last Christmas (which featured art by some dude named Rick Remender). We actually spotlighted last Christmas, and it’s quite a hilarious read. For them to take over “Deadpool” from Daniel Way makes perfect sense.

We’re not sure which Moore this could be referring to (Tony, Terry, Richard… Alan?), but with Posehn and Duggan a notable and proven duo when it comes to comics, it’s safe to say that now might be a great time to jump into “Deadpool.”

This would also mark the first instance of a new creative team not being an example of Marvel’s Musical Chairs with their stable of creators, and that alone is pretty exciting.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
