If you’ve never heard of it before, Brian Wood and Ryan Kelly have long been teasing a comic collaboration to follow-up their work together in “Local” and “New York Four/Five” entitled “Anthem.” It’s not something that will probably happen anytime soon, especially after Wood referred to it as his white whale in a 2011 Newsarama interview, but it is a music-based comic dealing with music through various eras and the effect the music has. With Ryan working on both “Saucer Country” for Vertigo and now “Three” for Image, the chances of us seeing this any time soon are pretty slim.

But still, no harm in teasing the general public, right? That’s why Wood and Kelly have made a teaser for “Anthem” available on a t-shirt.

You read that correctly: over on Wood’s site Northern Boy/Girl, a new t-shirt has been released featuring the first ever public image for the book with art by Ryan Kelly, available for you to own on a t-shirt for $25. I say this 100% non-sarcastically when I note that a great way to get word out on your book is to turn your fans into walking billboards. I know I’m up for it.

Order fast, as this will sell out soon. Truth be told, I’m still kicking myself for missing out on getting that Matty Roth inspired t-shirt, which is why I waited until after I’d ordered my “Anthem” shirt to make this news post. Good luck!

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
