Right off the bat I guess we should say spoiler alert: Bruce Wayne is returning. Just in case you didn’t know already. I mean, there’s that comic on the stands called The Return of Bruce Wayne, so…

ANYWAY! Now that I’ve got my appropriate amount of snark out of the way, take a look at this picture of the cover of Batman: The Return, written by Grant Morrison and arted by David Finch. Notice anything slightly newish? Perhaps something slightly oldish? Anything? If Batman wrote a song, and he wrote a song for you and all the things you do, what would it be called? That’s right: the yellow bat has returned. There are other slight differences overall, but that batlogo gets right in your face. Why did they decide to bring it back? Not entirely sure, but it’s definitely an interesting return.

Over at the La Times Blog, they’ve got an interview with Grant Morrison about his finale with Batman/Batman and Robin as well as some tidbits on the upcoming Batman Inc. The first issue is set for October with Yanick Paquette on art detail, and will feature “team-ups with Batman and different characters as he traveling the world and kind of training people.” El Gaucho, Knight and Squire are all set to appear in the book, and apparently there is a “big agenda” behind everything. Morrison is tackling this as a season, so it’ll be interesting to see what the climax of the tale will be.

For the full story, be sure to go to the LA Times Blog, and look for Batman: The Return and Batman Inc #1 in October.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
