OK, “Scott Pilgrim” and “Lost at Sea” fans, get ready: Bryan Lee O’Malley’s next graphic novel “Seconds” is for all intents and purposes complete:

A book he began post-“Pilgrim”, the artwork of which he began two years ago in 2011, “Seconds” will be a stand alone graphic novel according to comments from O’Malley spread out over tumblr.

Of course, this manuscript does not mean that it is finished. Far from it, in fact; this merely represents the completed outline of the entire series. O’Malley claims (again, via tumblr) that there is still a bevy of inking to do, and looking at the image below you can see that this is just scratching the surface of that claim:

Still, on the top of O’Malley’s twitter account he’s placed the date of 2014 for “Seconds,” and it’s outlining/penciling that’s the hard part, right? (Kidding, of course; it’s all the hard part). Be sure to look forward to the book next year as well as more coverage of O’Malley’s process as we come across it.

In the meantime, here is your requisite Scott Pilgrim gif:

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
