Busiek, Anderson and Co. Return to Astro City

When Wildstorm shut down in 2010, many books were lost in its wake. From the relaunch that almost was to books like “The Whistling Skull” and “Insurgent” that are only just now seeing release via DC Comics, that entire line of comics became a thing of the past.

But, only slightly. Because certain books, like “Astro City” for example, were not going to go away so easily.

And now “Astro City” is officially coming back after a few years off, as revealed on MTV Geek. The whole crew is back – Kurt Busiek, Brent Anderson, Alex Ross, John Roshell, Alex Sinclair, Comicraft, Kristy Quinn – and it picks up right where “Dark Age” left off, and still at DC Comics, meaning thankfully that “Astro City” wasn’t hit by the New 52 wave. It will remain true to “Astro City” as it ever was, starting with an arc about the Broken Man, a new character whose mysterious identity will play prominently in the first new arc.

The book returns June 5th. If you haven’t gotten caught up on Busiek and Anderson’s seminal work, now is the time.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
