Well hot damn!

Announced at the Dynamite panel, Ennis let slip that he will be writing a Nick Fury MAX title for Marvel with artist Goran Parlov, who he had previously worked with on the Punisher. This would be the third time he wrote the character, having written two mini-series starring Fury before – Peacemaker and Fury MAX. Of course, the last time he wrote a MAX title with Fury, it was so offensive that George Clooney – who had been interested in playing the character in a film – walked away from the proposed project.

Marvel doesn’t have that many MAX titles right now, with PunisherMAX and DeadpoolMAX being the only two titles right now and both of them taking place in alternate universes. It’s safe to say that the new Nick Fury MAX title will a) be in an alternate reality and b) be pretty darn offensive, if Ennis’ previous work is any indication. It’s also safe to say that Ennis’ Fury will be nothing like Hickman’s as of late.

Either way, look forward to this title soon.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
