Announced at C2E2 earlier today, BOOM! is going to be releasing a new Adventure Time mini-series starring everyone’s favorite fry-loving vampire Marceline.
Written and illustrated by “Octopus Pie‘s” Meredith Gran, the book — entitled “Marceline and the Scream Queens” — finds Princess Bubblegum joining Marceline and her band for an upcoming tour. On the way, they encounter threats in the form of “scenesters” and “beasts born of self-doubt” who attempt to stop them on their way to “THE RADDEST GIG EVER.” The book will also feature a back-up by “Koko Be Good’s” Jen Wang (!!!) and covers by Chynna Clugston, Lucy Kinsley, Ming Doyle and Colleen Coover.
If all of that doesn’t get you interested, quite frankly we don’t know what will.
This “Adventure Time” book will be a bit different from the main series in that the main book’s goal is to look somewhat like the show. Gran’s book won’t be a mirror in the art, which is pretty exciting (not that we don’t like the main book — we gave the first issue a 10.0!). “Octopus Pie” is a wonderful webcomic, and we’re pretty excited to see what Gran has planned for Marceline and her lady love.
Plus, if Gran touches on that aspect of their relationship, perhaps even in the same coy way Zac Gorman did… well. We’re looking forward to it, to say the least.
