It was solicited for July as “Classified,” but now — like with so many things — we know what it’s all about: Storm is taking over for Wolverine.

Launching in July, written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Victor Ináñez Storm is getting her own ongoing from Marvel. Storm will be stepping up to fill in for the dead Logan as the new headmistress of the Jean Grey Academy, and not much else is known about the series at the moment. Pak teased that classic X-Characters will show up, as well as elements of Ororo’s past, so here’s crossed that someone besides me can care about the Shadow King again. The book will also debut brand new characters, so prepare for some brand new mutants!

There’s not much else to go on about this right now, but Storm has long been a fan-favorite character for the X-Men so its nice to see her get the lead. Hopefully it’ll last for a while and not just until Wolverine inevitably comes back in 2017 when his next film comes out. (Or, well, probably sooner.)

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
