Marvel has announced a new “Cable” comic book series, written by Gerry Duggan (“Deadpool”) with art by Phil Noto (“Black Widow”). The relaunch for the ‘Dawn of X’ era will star the younger version of the character, Kid Cable, who will be going on adventures to new places, and taking younger X-Men like Pixie and Armor under his wing.

Noto told Marvel he was pleased to reunite with Duggan, whom he collaborated with on the miniseries “Star Wars: Chewbacca.” “I’m thrilled to be back working in the X-Universe and very happy to get the band back together with my buddy, Gerry Duggan,” he said. “Cable’s always been a favorite of mine and it’s fun to work in a painterly style again ala ‘Black Widow.’ Very excited for people to read this book. I think we’re doing something really special. Stay tuned!”

Kid Cable debuted in the 2018 event ‘eXtermination’ as a misguided antagonist, killing his older self to ensure the return of the original five X-Men to their own timeline. He was subsequently the focus of Ed Brisson and Dylan Burnett’s “X-Force” run earlier this year, where Cable’s former team reunited to hunt him down and avenge the original version.

The new “Cable” #1 will be released in March. This will be the second ‘Dawn of X’ title written by Duggan, following “Marauders.”
