Captain America Casting Roulette

Welcome back to our favorite game…who’s going to play Captain America?! It seems lately that every day brings a new person to test for the lead in Marvel’s upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America or someone else was mysteriously offered the role, yet no one actually gets cast.

Today, The Hollywood Reporter is saying that a source close to the film has stated that Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The Losers…this guy likes comic movies) has been offered the role of Steve Rogers. Whether or not this is actually true is uncertain currently, as both Marvel and Evans’ reps have declined to comment yet, but hopefully he’ll be cast so we can end this nonsense. This saga has had more “will they or won’t they” moments than a season of Chuck…that’s a lot of will they or won’t they!

I also hope they cast Evans because I think he’s an underrated actor and someone who could bring a lot to the role. I think his more understated work like Sunshine was exceptional, and ever since Cellular (that’s right) I’ve regarded him as an underrated action lead. I think he can handle it. What say you, fans?
