In more Cap-related news, Marvel has announced another Captain America mini entitled Captain America: Hail Hydra, beginning in January. Written by Doomwar writer Jonathan Maberry, the story will follow Captain America across his career, and focuses on his many encounters with the villainous Hydra. Says Maberry:
The story follows Cap as he runs afoul of an ongoing Hydra plot. He collides with it first during World War II, then again shortly after [being] ‘brought back’ from suspended animation by the Avengers. Each time Cap runs into it he tears it down and believes it to be destroyed. But that’s the thing about Hydra: you can’t really kill it.
I’ll admit, I haven’t been following Doomwar, so I have no idea about Maberry’s writing capabilities, but this sounds like a very great concept. Even more interesting, the series will have different artists each issue to imitate the different eras the story straddles. I don’t know about you, but I think I’m preording this.
