I’m from Boston. If there is one thing that I am happy to endorse as far as stereotypes go, it’s that I love Dunkin’ Donuts (it’s wicked awesome). While I’m sure it’s not that great for me, I usually grab an iced coffee on the way home from work. So how nice was it to find, emblazoned on the side of my cup, the very familiar Captain America shield logo!
As the cup itself indicates, America – Runs – On – Dunkin. How true is that? Granted, Dunkin’ Donuts wasn’t founded until 1950, but if Captain America wants to drink an iced tea in Quincy, smile, and wink at the camera, I’ll allow it.
As anyone who saw the film The Greatest Movie Ever Sold knows, one of the reasons that Marvel has been successful with their films is due to product placement and heavy advertising. Obviously this is another example of Marvel’s advertising at work, but hey – I’m going to watch Cap anyway. And I like iced coffee. I suppose I’m fine with them calling this a win on my behalf.
