You read that right. Carlton Cuse – one of the show-runners of “Lost” – is working on developing “The Sixth Gun” as a series for NBC. NYCC hasn’t even started yet and that might already be the coolest news yet, as all of us at MC love the Oni supernatural western series from writer Cullen Bunn and artist Brian Hurtt.
Writing the pilot will be Ryan Condal, a person not unfamiliar with Oni work as he also adapted Greg Rucka’s Queen and Country for Fox. Between those two fine gentleman, we’re stoked about the future of The Sixth Gun on TV.
But you know what that means…you need to start reading the comic soon so you can say you read the comic before the show was out. But you should be anyways, as it’s one of the best comics out there – bar none. Congrats to Cullen and Brian, and best of luck to the team developing it.
