Last year, we ran a series of articles chronicling the appearance of a mysterious hooded woman who we dubbed Carol. Why Carol? Because, really.
Today, as part of DC’s world shattering, internet breaking announcements for 2012, they decided to kick things off by giving you her actual name: Pandora.
Why not Carol? I’m not sure. Carol is such a nice name, and one you don’t see too often. Everyone knows about the name Pandora, however. We’re a tad bit disappointed, truthfully.
Pandora, as I’m sure most of you know, is a name pulled from the Greek myth about (short version) a girl who gets a box and is told not to open it, but she does and lets loose all the evil inside the box into the world. Pandora the comic book character, however, appeared when Barry Allen screwed up the Multiverse for everyone, watching as a new single universe was born out of the ashes of three. If DC isn’t setting her up for some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy by naming her Pandora, I’ll eat my hat.
It’s either that, or Pandora will end up delivering a wide array of music to the DCnU characters based on their preferences, either via a website or a handy iPhone app. Either or.
The jury is still out on Pandora actually being Ambush Bug, though.
