Image Comics’s salacious superhero series, “Sex,” will return this April in graphic novel form, with “Sex: World Hunger.”

In an Image press release announcing the book, writer Joe Casey teased that while the series’s return has been a long time coming, the next volume of “Sex” is sure to satisfy.

“[Series artist Piotr] Kowalski and I are primed and pumped to return to the sordid world of ‘Sex,” said Casey. “This volume definitely takes things to another level of salaciousness. And we’re just getting started taking this new format out for a spin.”

The Image press release promises a return to Saturn City, where retired superhero Simon Cooke will attempt to “uncover the illicit secrets of the so-called Illuminati that desperately wants to recruit him.” But as Simon falls further into the Illuminati’s clutches, Saturn City itself will be left “vulnerable to all manner of desperate depravity.”

“Sex” joins a growing number of formerly-ongoing series that have made the shift to releasing in trade paperback form, rather than single issues, including “Fence,” “Moonstruck,” and “Motor Crush.” Time will tell whether more series make the shift to the trade paperback release structure in 2019, but until then, you can find “Sex” Vol. 6 on sale in stores and online April 24.
