In what I am going to deem the best news of the day, one of Multiversity’s favorite comics “Chew” is getting adapted into an animated feature starring Steven Yeun of “The Walking Dead” fame as Tony Chu (nailed it) and Felicia Day of “The Guild” fame as Amelia Mintz (nailed it again). Not only that, but it’s being written by series writer and co-creator John Layman with both he and artist/co-creator Rob Guillory executive producing.

After the Showtime pilot for the TV show never managed to happen, many wondered what would happen with this property, but now that it’s becoming an animated feature for home and digital release, I’m overjoyed for the duo of Layman and Guillory because honestly, that’s probably the best solution. And with Yeun and Day involved? Perfect.

It’s set to be directed by Jeff Krelitz, who also is adapting “Peter Panzerfaust”, and with so much awesome surrounding this, it’s hard to imagine it’s not going to be fantastic. Congrats to all involved, and I really cannot wait to watch this.
