Cobie Smulders is an Avenger (or How I Met Your Maria Hill)

Hot off the presses, it looks like Cobie Smulders has been confirmed for the role of Maria Hill in the new Avengers movie. She reportedly beat out a former Whedonite Morena Baccarin for the role. Whedon had been wanting to work with her for a while, as she was originally attached to Whedon’s Wonder Woman movie a few years ago.

While she’s not a superpowered member, it looks like we’ll have some tough girls who can stand up to the big boys like Tony Stark and Thor!
