Collider Entertainment’s New Book: The Mission

Last week, Mark Guggenheim’s Image imprint Collider put out their first comic: Halcyon. It was a huge success and much enjoyed by us here at Multiversity. That’s why we’re excited to share the info just released on Image’s site about the next book on Collider: The Mission.

As the press release at Image reads, “In THE MISSION, a typical working guy finds his life upended when he’s approached by a mysterious figure who claims to be the archangel Gabriel. Gabriel tells him he’s been chosen for a mission in the battle between good and evil. The mission? Murder! Did our hero actually get a command from an angel or is he losing his mind? “

The comic is written by Jon and Erich Hoeber, who you wrote the screenplay for the recently released Red movie. The art is done by Werther Dell’edera, who you might know from Brian Azzarello’s Loveless on Vertigo. The comic is also overseen by Guggenheim and Tager, who write Halcyon. Billed as a supernatural thriller, the comic will have to “face the reality” of the question about God’s existence. It sounds like it’ll be a fairly interesting comic, and with Guggenheim’s success with Halcyon and Image’s general success with new books these days, I’d imagine this could be a fairly interesting book to grab.

Look for the book in February for the uniformly loved price of $2.99.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
