'In the Flood'

ComiXology have announced “In the Flood,” a new graphic novel written and illustrated by Ray Fawkes (“Constantine,” “Justice League Dark”), which will be released on the platform next week. Described as a surreal but poignant story in the vein of a David Lynch film or the writing of Haruki Murakami, the book “follows a couple struggling to keep their marriage together, despite being driven physically apart by a literal flood with mysterious properties.”

“’In The Flood’ is a labor of love,” Fawkes said in a statement, “a project that I was determined to do and I hope readers enjoy the setup, the mystery and the payoff. This is a unique and non-linear book, full of metaphor and symbolism, grounded by a very human, very emotional tale of love and loss.” Collaborating with Fawkes on the project are colorist Lee Loughridge and lettererer Thomas Mauer.

“In The Flood” will be released on comiXology and Kindle on December 18: as with all comiXology Originals, it will available at no extra charge to subscribers of Amazon Prime, Kindle Unlimited, or ComiXology Unlimited, and the print edition will be exclusive to Amazon.com. In the meantime, head on over to The Hollywood Reporter for an exclusive preview of the book.
