Hot on the heels of yesterday’s announced “Grendel/The Shadow” crossover, Dynamite and Dark Horse are showing that they are not afraid to work together to produce some jaw-droppingly amazing crossovers. Case in point? The just announced crossover miniseries between Red Sonja and Conan the Barbarian, co-written by Gail Simone and Brian Wood. Wow – NYCC isn’t even here yet and this might already be its best announcement.

Details are still sparse (like who is drawing it), but we do know this: this takes place after Wood’s current “Conan” arc, and features a more mature, experienced Conan, and that Simone is the one who got the ball rolling on this project.

Kudos to Simone, Wood, Dark Horse and Dynamite for putting together what seems to be, on paper, a perfect pairing. Check out an interview from our friends at Comic Book Resources with both Wood and Simone, and stay tuned for more details about this, and all NYCC announcements, when they become available.
