Called it.

Teased last week and announced today, Frank Cho will be taking over the Wolverine ongoing in January, now titled “The Savage Wolverine,” as confirmed by Newsarama. The story will take place in the Savage Land and also feature Shanna the She-Devil, a character Cho worked extensively with in the past.  Cho remarks that, unlike Aaron’s darker/moodier run, one of the emphases of his run on the book will be a humor aspect to it, although what humor lies in the deadly jungles of a place called the Savage Land is unknown to us.

Oh, and lots of violence. Humor and violence. A winning combination!

Cho will be joined by frequent collaborator Jason Keith on colors.

Look for the book in January 2013.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
