Hello. We know you hate spoilers because we hate spoilers, so in an effort to not spoil anything, we’ve created this post entirely behind the safety of a spoiler-filled jump.

If you have not read Amazing Spider-Man #673 and do not want to be spoiled on something revealed within its pages, please just move along. This news will assumedly spread like wildfire soon, but we respect your right to privacy.

If you have read Amazing Spider-Man #673 and/or just don’t care/don’t mind being spoiled, information awaits you beyond the cut.

Well, we guessed it, and now, all things considered, it looks like we were right.
In the latest issue of Amazing Spider-Man, New York recovers from the spider virus that plagued them throughout the past crossover arc. In the epilogue, we’re given a few short character pieces. Amongst them, we learn that Kaine, now healed from his physical deformity thanks to the the Anti-Venom serum is going on a field trip, and he’s taking with him a familiar looking blue hoodie and Spider-Man’s stealth suit:
While at no point does it explicitly say, “Hey, Peter, I’m going to go be the Scarlet Spider now, so see you later!”, but I think we can all read between the lines on this one.
Coming from writer Christopher Yost and artist Ryan Stegman, look for his first story in the pages of Point One next week, and check out his continued adventures in his ongoing come January 2012.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
