No, you definitely read that one right. According to report from Variety, Sony Pictures are looking to follow up Rhys Ifans performance as the Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man with Electro and are in talks with Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx to play him. But it gets better.
Jamie Foxx himself tweeted: “Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well.”
But then it gets even better as director Marc Webb called Foxx “electrifying” when asked about the report at a press conference promoting the bluray release of The Amazing Spider-Man.
“We’ll see. I think Jamie Foxx is electrifying. I think Jamie Foxx is one of the most brilliant actors that we have around today. He’s such a great character actor. He’s a really brilliant guy and I would love to work with him, so you’ll be hearing more on that shortly, I’m sure.”
