Well, even I can’t deny… that is certainly a Flash costume.

Coming from CBR and the CW, what you see above is the first official image of Grant Gustin in costume as The Flash from the upcoming pilot for CW’s The Flash. Spinning off of CW’s successful (I’m assuming, I’m the only person not actually watching) Arrow series, this seems to be their first attempt to build an inter-connectivity between series which is interesting. Whether or not they’ll be able to connect to the movies or other shows like FOX’s Gotham is another matter, but I can’t say it’s not admirable.

As for the costume? Well, like I said, it’s certainly a Flash costume. While it’s definitely a darker shade of red than I would have thought, looking more brown to me than red, but that might just be the lighting. Between that and the leather look to the cowl, I hope I’m the only one having Daredevil flashback. Still, like I said, I can’t deny it’s a Flash costume and they seem to be taking the whole thing seriously in building inter-connected stories with characters that might not be fit to enter the film world yet. Maybe I’ll even be able to get into this show in the way that I never got into Arrow

Be sure to check out CBR for more information on the costume.

And, hey, the speed force effects can’t look any worse than the running in Smallville, right?

Right?
