Dark Horse have revealed two more titles set to debut in their December soliciations: the biblical horror comic “Daisy,” by cartoonist Colin Lorimer and colorist Joana Lafuente, and “The Icon,” a vigilante crime story from writer and Dark Horse president Mike Richardson, with artist Jordi Armengol. “Daisy” and “The Icon” will also feature lettering from Jim Campbell and Nate Piekos, respectively.
“Daisy” is a modern day mystery set in the town of Brimount, where the eponymous Daisy Phillips is currently living with her family. Daisy is over eight feet tall, is often sick, and wears clothes she made herself. Her status as a social outcast is only strained further when a mother who has been searching for her son for five years arrives in Brimount, bringing Daisy into further scrutiny.
The five-issue miniseries’s biblical horror aspects come into focus as Daisy slowly comes to realize she may be descended from the Nephilim, a race of fallen angels cast out from Heaven who resided on Earth as giants.

“I’m delighted to be back at Dark Horse Comics!” said Lorimer. “Their logo attached to ‘Daisy’ gives it the ‘horror’ seal of approval.”
“The Icon” is set 25 years after a masked vigilante declared a war on American crime, however after a long hiatus private investigator Jake Stevens is sent to track down the missing hero, threatening to reveal his identity. The four-issue miniseries promises to put a noir twist on superhero cliches while interrogating the failings and darker aspects of the American system.
“’The Icon’ is right up my alley, a dark tornado of treachery, betrayal, deceit, and murder,” said series editor Chris Warner. “It’s as if Orson Welles had written a superhero story. And Jordi Armengol’s gritty, realistic visuals are breathtaking. Such a cool series!”
“Daisy” #1 released December 8 with a cover by Lorimer, while “The Icon” #1 releases December 14 with a cover by Armengol.
