On Saturday, DC Comics co-publisher Dan Didio posted the above status update on Facebook announcing that all previous crises in the DCnU have now not happened. Sure, Hawk and Dove may have made a reference to Crisis on Infinite Earths, but it’s not the crisis you’re thinking of. No, this is a DCnU where Batman and Green Lantern don’t get their histories rebooted just because but things like Infinite and Identity Crisis haven’t happened.

As you may have guessed, we’re not the only ones who had questions about this. So, as it were, Dan DiDio took to the internet to clarify:

So that’s that then. I suppose I can throw out my copy of Crisis on Infinite Earths now until they re-release it written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by either Ivan Reis, Ethan Van Sciver or Andy Kubert. Whichever one you like.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
