Danny McBride is one of the hottest rising stars in comedy today, as his roles in things like “Tropic Thunder” and “Pineapple Express” have earned him a ton of love, and his HBO show “Eastbound and Down” has turned him into a bit of a cult sensation.

Now, he’s about to become a comic sensation, as Newsarama reports that he will be writing a prequel comic to his 2011 film “Your Highness” for Dark Horse Comics.

This film is about two royal brothers, one a slacker (Danny McBride) and the other a golden boy (James Franco), and about how the former tries to repair his image and gain the esteem his brother has. The comic, which is released the same day as the film (April 8th, 2011), finds McBride attempting to negotiate a treaty with the nearby Dwarf Kingdom but ultimately is distracted by the dwarves magic herb (you can guess what that is).

The comic will be co-written by Jeff Fradley, with art coming from superstar Sean Phillips (Criminal, Incognito) and frequent Dark Horse contributor Gabriel Guzman.
