Emulating a move that has seemingly been very successful for Image (see: Image Firsts: The Walking Dead #1’s meteoric rise from 110th to 15th on the Diamond charts in April), Dark Horse announced today that select comics will be re-released in print as $1 comics.
This includes the first issues of fan favorites like Hellboy, The Umbrella Academy, and The Goon, Dark Horse hopes to bring in new fans of these books with this new initiative. While some have questioned why this isn’t happening digitally, the proof is in the pudding: this method has worked for other publishers, and it only makes sense for Dark Horse to do the same.
