Dark Horse Comics announced, via The Hollywood Reporter, a new four-part detective comic called “Wyrd” will launch in January. The series is from the creative team of writer Curt Pires, artist Antonio Fuso and colorist Stefano Simeone. Jeff Lemire, Rafael Albuquerque, Gabriele Dell’Otto and Danijel Zezelj will all be providing variant covers for “Wyrd.”

The series will follow private detective, Pitor Wyrd, who is unaffected by age and seemingly-invincible and willing to help out in cases with an element of the extraordinary, but only if the price is right. The publisher have described the comic as “James Bond meets The X-Files.”

As part of the announcement, a full page of artwork was released with the main covers for the first two issues, as well as Lemire’s variant for #1. Fuso had previously released four panels as a countdown to the announcement which you can view here.

The series will be a return to comics for Curt Pires, whose last published work was supernatural thriller “The Forevers” which launched in 2016. In addition to “Wyrd,” artist Antonio Fuso is also working on “Survival Fetish,” “Clan Killers” and the upcoming Mr Robot comic book series. Colorist Stefano Simeone is no stranger to Fuso’s artwork having worked on the covers for the aforementioned “Clan Killers” as well as other series, such as “Eternal.”

“Wyrd” is scheduled to be in stores and be available digitally January 30.
