Just like with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight Rises is getting a good amount of associated viral marketing coming down the wire. What do we have now? A set of YouTube videos, illustrated a prison riot, fire everywhere, and angry mobs. Also – Batman: Vigilante or Hero?
The chanting is similar to what we’d already seen with viral marketing that revealed to us Bane, and I’m willing to bet that if someone more clever than I took some of the audio and put it through some kind of spectral analysis, you’ll probably get a new piece of the puzzle. In the mean time, the middle of the GCN video does feature a flashing URL which leads to a Facebook page for the Fire Rises, which at the moment doesn’t have much to it. I’m willing to guess that as time goes by, you’ll probably be hearing a lot about an Arkham breakout that may or may not be similar to that one time way back when when Bane broke prisoners out and, in addition to the prison walls, smashed up Batman’s back.
