GameSpot has announced a new four-issue Dark Souls series from Titan Comics, titled “Dark Souls: The Age of Fire,” which will be written by Ryan O’Sullivan (“Void Trip”), and digitally painted by Russian artist Anton Kokarev (“Howling,” “Evil Dead 2: Beyond Dead by Dawn,” Titan’s “Tekken”).

Intended to coincide with the release of Dark Souls Remastered on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May 25, “The Age of Fire” will explore the back-story of the Silver Knights, an enemy faction in the game who serve the goddess Dark Sun Gwyndolin in the city of Anor Londo. This will be the latest series from Titan based on Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware’s infamously challenging role-playing game, following 2016’s “Dark Souls” miniseries and its follow-up “Dark Souls: Winter’s Spite” (also published that year), and the anthology titles “Dark Souls: Legends of the Flame” (also 2016) and “Dark Souls: Tales of Ember” (2017).

“Dark Souls: The Age of Fire” #1 is out May 16. Head on over to GameSpot to take a look at the variant covers, and for an advanced preview of the spectacular (and blood-splattered) artwork. On Twitter, O’Sullivan referred to this as “the first arc,” so he and Titan presumably have more series planned. In the meantime, Titan will be releasing the first issue of another comic based on a Miyazaki/FromSoftware game, “Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep,” next week.
